Collision Damage Waiver
Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection (CDW-TP) is not insurance. The rental company requires CDW-TP protection to rent some categories of vehicles (Premium and above) unless you purchase the National Protection Package (NPP) which includes CDW-TP. If you purchase CDW-TP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility for the cost of damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle (after the deductible) during the rental period in El Salvador unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement.
A deductible of $3,000 USD will apply for CDW depending on car class. A deductible of $7,000 USD will apply in the case of theft of the vehicle.
If CDW-TP and NPP are both declined, the renter is responsible for the full cost of damage or the full value of the vehicle.

Deductible Protection (DP)
Deductible Protection (DP) may be purchased as an additional protection along with the Collision Damage Waiver-Theft protection. If you purchase DP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility of all deductibles associated with the CDW-TP product, unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement. DP is included in the National Protection Package (NPP).

Third Party Liability
Third Party Liability (TPL) protection is required by the rental company unless the customer provides proof of valid insurance or National Protection Package (NPP) is purchased. TPL provides liability coverage for accident related expenses not pertaining to the rental vehicle, up to the policy limit, subject to the actions listed on the rental agreement that invalidate TPL.
A deductible of up to $250 USD applies.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI1)The purchase of personal accident insurance is optional and not required to rent a vehicle
Personal Accident Insurance covers ambulance service, doctors, hospitalization and nurses for each passenger in the vehicle, with a maximum limit of $5,000 per event.

Roadside Assistance Proctection
Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) If selected and paid for at the time of rental, Roadside Assistance is available 24/7 without additional charges.
RAP includes towing (not related to an accident), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, vehicle will be towed), and lockout service (if keys are locked inside the vehicle). Jumpstarts and fuel delivery service for up to 5 gallons (or equivalent liters) of fuel is also provided. Tire damage beyond repair as a result of driver neglect is the responsibility of the renter.
If the rental vehicle is not able to be repair, customer will be given a replacement vehicle.

Additional Protection
National Protection Package (NPP) special pricing includes Collision Damgae Waiver (CDW), Theft Protection (TP), Third Party Liability (TPL) and Deductible Protection (DP). NPP is not insurance. Additional Driver
• All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements.
• Additional drivers must appear at the rental counter with the primary renter.
• Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement.
• An additional daily fee may apply for any Additional Drivers.
The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick up location.
The maximum number of additional drivers permitted per rental is unlimited.
Chauffeur/Driver Service is available at $100 per day up to 12 hour. If service exceeds 12 hours the charge is $16 per hour. Service includes driver and a midsize vehicle, fuel, CDW-TP, PAI and PLI. For chauffeur service, please email reservaciones@nationalcar.sv. Please be sure to include contact information. Confirmation of service will be sent within 24-48 business hours.

Age Requirements
Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 and maximum rental age is 75 years.
Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 will incur an additional daily fee.

Cross Border Policy
Cross border travel is permitted anywhere in Central America only at a surcharge of 100.00 . In addition, the customer must purchase a cross border permit from the rental station at a cost of 50.00 . The cross border permit must be purchased 72 hours in advance. Cross border travel is only permitted for reservations with a minimum rental length of 7 days.
Roadside service is available to customers in the permitted countries for an additional fee.

Renter Requirement
Must meet the location's minimum age requirements.
Present a valid driver's license.
Present a major credit card in renter's name at the time of rental
International drivers must provide a valid license from their country of residentce. In addition to the drivers license, if the characheters are not in English or Latin characters, an international drivers permit is recommended. If the drivers license is in characters other than Latin, an International permit is required or a Notarized English Translation is accepted.
This location accepts notorized Chinese Drivers License.
Payment Policy
A passport in addition to a credit card, with available credit and in the renter's name, must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card. In addition, if the renter has an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by renter must match the name and number stored for the online transaction.

An authorization on the credit card in the amount of $1000 Plus the cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. This authorization amount may be toed toward damages of vehicles or late charges.
Debit/Check cards are not accepted at this location. Debit/check cards are considered to be any non-credit card American Express®, MasterCard®, VISA®, Diners Club®, Discover® logo.
Cash is not accepted at this location.
Refueling Policy
As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1- We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay National at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices. A 50% surcharge will apply.
Option 2- You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
Special Equipment
GPS Navigation Device – $12.00 per day or $60 per week. There is a replacement fee of $400 if the GPS is damaged or not returned.
NEO - $14.00 per day, $210 max. $550 replacement
Child Safety Seat – $6.00 per day, $35 per week; $100 replacement
