Collision Damage Waiver
Collision Damage Waiver w/Theft Protection (CDW-TP) The purchase of CDW-TP is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle. If you purchase CDW-TP, the rental company contractually waives your responsibility for the cost of damage to, loss or theft of the vehicle, during the rntal period in Guyana unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement. If CDW-TP is declined, the renter is responsible for the full value of damage to or loss of the vehcile.

Please be aware that most auto insurance policies from outside Guyana do not provide coverage in Guyana. Employees of the local rental car company are not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the customer's personal auto insurance coverage. The customer should contact their insurance company in advance of the pickup date for the rental with any questions regarding their specific coverage.

Third Party Liability
Third Party Liability (TPL) is included in the Time and Mileage rate. TPL provides you with liability coverage for accident-related expenses not pertaining to the rental vehicle, the driver of the rental vehicle, the renter, an employee of the renter or members of the renter's household, up to the policy limits, unless you invalidate the coverage as provided in the rental agreement.
No deductible applies.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Protection (PAP) The purchase of Personal Accident Protection is optional and not required to rent a vehicle.
Personal Accident Protection is an insurance product underwritten by Massy United Insurance and offered by Massy Industries (Guyana) Ltd. PAP provides accidental death and disability as a result of the accident, accidental medical expense protection for the renter, authorized driver. Accidental death benefits are paid to the estate or designated beneficiary of the deceased. Accidental medical expense benefits are paid directly to the renter or passengers, unless otherwise specified. The renter and passengers may authorize that payment be made directly to a hospital, physician, or other party.
PAP provides liablity coverage up to a maximum limit of $25,000 USD.

Additional Driver

Renter Requirement
Drivers must meet the location's minimum age requirement.
Present a major credit card in the renter's name at the time of rental.
A valid driver's license from the customer's coutnry of origin.
In order to make it convenient for tourists to obtain a Driver's Permit, the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has put relevant facilities in place at the Cheddi Jagan Intl AIrport (CJIA) for travelers to access. Any touris wishing to drive a locally registered motor vehicle on the roadways of Guyana must obtain a Drivers Permit issued by the License Revenue Office of the Guyana Revenue Authority. A tourist must have the following.
1. Provide the Licensing Officer with a valid driver's license (from the country of origin).
2. Provide details of their local address while in Guyana.
3. Answer any questions about their stay in Guyana and the reason for requiring the permit.
Note: Once the permit is issued, it is valid for one (1) month. Foreign Nationals who are driving in Guyana must obtain the driver's permit and are required to make the application in person. Applications cannot be made via email.
If you are unable to obtain your driver's permit at the Airport, kindly visit the Excise Licensing and Motor Vehicle Registration Office (known as the License Revenue Office) located at Smythe and Princess Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown to process your request for a driver's permit.
International drivers must provide a valid license from their country of residence. In addition to the driver license, if the characters are not in English or Latin Characters, an International Drivers permit is recommended. If the drivers licensee is in characters other than Latin, an International permit is required or a Notarized English Translation is accepted.
Payment Policy
A passport in addition to a credit card, with available credit and in the renter's name, must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name imprinted on the card. In addition, if the renter has an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card must match the name and number stored for the online transaction.
Credit Cards honored: MasterCard®, VISA®
An authorization on the credit card of 130% or a min amount of $250 plus the estimated cost of the rental, will be taken at the time of pickup. This authorization amount may be used toward damages of the vehicle, late charges or citations incurred during the rental vehicle.
Debit/Check cards are only accepted at this location as form of final payment. Debit/Check cards are considered to be any non-credit card with the American Express®, Discover®, MasterCard®, VISA® logo. Any other non-creidt card without one of these logoa is not accepted.
Cash is only accepted at this location as a form of final payment. For customers renting with cash, they will need to present a current driver's license along with another form of ID (paystub or utility bill). A deposit in the amount of $500 plus the full cost of the rental will be taken at the time of pickup. This deposit amount may be used toward damages of the vehicle or late charges.
Refueling Policy
As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1 - Prepay Fuel
This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. No refunds will be issued for unused gas. Pre-paid gas is available at the same local fuel prices.
Option 2 - We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per liters will be sold $1.00 USD higher than local fuel prices.
Option 3 - You Refill
This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
